Riding The Catamaran Boats

So you're looking for the perfect place to watch the sunset on your vacation in Hawaii? I've got quite the experience for you! Taking a catamaran boat ride at sunset!

Catamaran on Waikiki by Carl Shaneff

You can find most of the catamaran experience contact information on the internet. Then you just make a quick phone call to sign up.  If you're already at Waikiki beach, you can usually also catch people along the shore under umbrellas signing up people. I've been able to get us on a boat the same day. Keep in mind that they usually want you there 45 minutes before setting sail. Also, wear sandals!!! Your feet will get wet when stepping onto the boat.

Most catamarans serve drinks once you get out further and you're welcome to move around to get different views. Bring your cameras and phones at your own risk. When it gets bumpy,  and depending where you are on the boat, you'll get wet. I also recommend a camera that ties around your neck to keep safe.

Bring nausea medication or those nausea wrist bands if you or anyone you know gets motion sickness. My husband was not doing well when we went and, out in the middle of the ocean, all we could do for him was give him ice to chew on.

This activity is definitely kid friendly. If you are worried, there are life jackets available to help ease your fears.

The catamarans also have day rides and its common to see dolphins, whales, and turtles! :)

Here are some photos from our ride.

Here are my boys. Austin on the left and Jamison on the right.

Me and my hubby, Steven.

Here is a great pic of the view looking back towards Diamond Head.

Me and one of my dearest best friends Jenn. I thought this was also a great pic of the view looking back at Waikiki.

And the reason we came out. To see this beautiful sunset!
